Our Church School
We believe that being a Church School means much more than simply educating our children and teaching them to be good citizens. At St. Peter's we are driven by the Gospel Values – those values taught by Jesus. These values are central to our Mission Statement ‘Learning, Loving and Living with Jesus’ and therefore all that we do.
Thankfulness, friendship, forgiveness, compassion, truthfulness and respect, these are the Christian values chosen by our pupils, parents, staff and governors as representative of our school. We seek to promote these shared values throughout school life so that our everybody chooses to make personal and behavioural choices based on Christian teaching.
As a Church School we hold daily Worships where we explore and develop Jesus’ teachings through the half termly distinct Christian value. Alongside Miss Leyland and other teaching staff, our Worships are also led by Revd David Earnshaw and Revd Jeff Finch on alternate Mondays, with our children developing their roles as Worship leaders too!
Our school enjoys very close links with St. Peter’s Church and the local worshipping community, we join in with Sunday services at St. Peter’s throughout the year and we are also very well supported by the church community in our village activities. We are at present awaiting our new vicar and look forward to welcoming them to St. Peter's. During this interregnum Revd Jeff Finch is kindly leading us in fortnightly Worships.
Reverend David Earnshaw, Inskip Baptist Church Pastor, is also keenly involved in the spiritual life of our school through leading us in regular Worships, he is also a valued member of our Governing body.
Every Wednesday lunchtime, the children have the opportunity to hear wonderful things about God as we look at the Bible together. We explore these things by doing crafts, singing songs, decorating cakes, acting out Bible scenes, playing games and generally having fun together.
The children have especially enjoyed looking at Jesus, the Good Shepherd, and thinking about the wonderful miracles He has done.
Each week, a special Wonder Club sticker is awarded for the best contribution to the club. Lots of children have enjoyed this award so far for their thoughtful prayers, kindness to others, excellent crafts and boundless enthusiasm.
God is truly wonderful and Wonder Club celebrates this!
